If I can make it why buy it?...Sometimes...

Hi Ladies!

OK so last week I went on an unintended Jewelry Haul at Forever 21.I REALLY had intended to buy some cheap studs to adorn my head warmer...lol I will show you that at a later time..
But while there I saw these Hoops

Cute right?.....Mmkay well I have a well endowed face/head lol.I embrace it and these babies are small.I don't like medium hoops I feel the same about medium hoops as I do about 3/4 sleeves.I dunno ya'll I cant do them ..it's either or.I digress...so I picked the earrings up and realized they were pliable(bendable) and so I that for $4.80 I'd bend them to the length and shape I wanted.Have you ever done that?
Here's the pic.I got so many compliments!People actually thought I made them.

You guys know I LOVE leather...so I basically did my own rendition with this scrap leather a nice big piece of Khaki /Olive green sueded leather :-)

She used Hooks but I decided to give it a clip back and added Gold domes as the flower centers.
How do you like?
It was fun and took all of about 45 min...ONLY because I didn't have a petal template.If you are going to do this without using actual flower pieces I suggest that you print a Petal template form offline or freehand draw one on a piece of stiff paper or card stock.That is so that you are able to trace it onto your fabric.

Sunday Tea

When it's winter,I can't wait for Summer.I guess it's something that never goes away once you've been a student for so long.Spring,Fall and Winter means school and Summer means NO school.LoL...Well when you graduate and aren't a teacher...it's just another season.
However, you still feel a sense of ease.Not as many layers to wear,summer hair(bought or home grown :-))..
Whatever the case,since I work all year round :-) Summer is my chance to travel and just relax...or something like that.
I recently came back from a Missions trip to St.Maarten with the dance team at my church,we literally danced from sun up to sun down EVERYday.I should be skinnier but my metaboilism is retarded..no really it is.
I digress...I always look from moments of ease,because NYC will rob you of them with no hopes of a lost and found.

SO ..this weekend I hung with a very good friend of mine.I love going to her place.She lives inElmhust Queens,which is a mini getaway to me..lol and we have a routine.We start off with Bubble Tea and then Vietnamese food and then snack and then later Indonesian food.Yum!
Sunday she decided to take me to this Tea place called Rose House in Flushing.
Let me tell you!AH!so beautiful,I felt like a lil girl at a tea party.
We had tea and scones ..... 

We just sat and talked,and who knew you could actually get full off of tea and scones??Seriously!?Lol
I had the English Mixed fruit tea and my friend had the Iced Rose Tea.We opted for iced tea rather than hot tea...it was too hot outside...lol
The prices though not cheap wont break the bank,but it's worth it.
I definitively will be going again.

You MUST see this

After missing it the first go round at the Schomburg Center in Harlem NYC,I could NOT wait to see the encore run of this amazing show "Renaissance in The Belly of A Killer Whale"

It is a 3 woman show and it is based in Harlem,the past ,present,and present future of Harlem through the eyes and voices of these young ladies.
From reminiscing on the old school games we played and the foods we ate to the very present "gentro" (lol as they would say) ,that's affecting us today it is AWESOME!My words can't say it all.Whether you are from Harlem or HAW-LEM (as I would phonetically put it),or another borough or state,you will thoroughly enjoy how eloquently and witty this story is put together.
I know 2 of the young ladies personally and they are spoken word artists and are phenomenal.All three are awesome!
